Roommate Wanted - Across the fence from DU!
Hello!
I'm about to graduate from DU with a Master's in Voice Performance and my roommate is leaving. My lease is transitioning to month-to-month on July 1, so I would like a roommate to avoid paying the entire rent myself plus whatever fee they... decide to charge me for a month-to-month.
I will be communicating with the property manager about what the lease for my roommate would look like. At this point, I am not sure I can commit to 12 more months in Denver, so someone with similarly flexible plans would be ideal.
I am male, but my current roommate is female. I would prefer a male roommate, but I am accommodating. I would appreciate someone who can help me keep the apartment clean and deep clean once in a while. I'm allergic to everything, so I can't live with pets. I also can't deal with weed or cigarette smoke--sorry, I've tried! My roommate is taking most if not all of the furniture, so if you have alot of stuff, no worries! We have a large pantry that can double as a storage closet. If it matters, I am a Christian, and I have a Sunday morning church job. I'm a fairly quiet person, but a light sleeper, so I can't really tolerate all-night parties or...shall we say, late-night rendezvous. I'm very social; while we don't need to be best friends, I appreciate acknowleding each other's existence and making small talk.
As far as the building, I'll be honest: It's old. The elevator is tiny and makes scary noises. The property management steps in when something goes seriously wrong, but if you want something done, you have to put in a request--they don't know the meaning of proactivity. Maintenance is way easier to reach than the property manager, Kathy, who is Gen X but has the Gen Z tendency of only responding to text messages--not necessarily in a timely manner. The property has no cameras and Inspire will do nothing for you if your car gets broken into or your packages get stolen. (I had an attempted break-in; my packages that won't fit in the mailbox get stolen every so often.) The mailboxes are locked, but your packages will not be secure. The community is good about bringing packages in if they see some sitting out. I've started using the Amazon Locker at the 7/11 down the street since it's free. If you're willing to put up with the lack of bells and whistles, the rent is decent and the biggest disturbance you'll probably get is the occasional sound of African-inspired dance music from the downstairs neighbors at 8:00 a.m.
I look forward to chatting--and hopefully meeting--with you!
Best,
Nathan J.
